9 people hospitalized for carbon monoxide exposure on Chicago's far South Side
CHICAGO (CBS)-- Nine people, including six children, were hospitalized Tuesday morning after a carbon monoxide leak at an apartment building in the East Side neighborhood.
Around 8 a.m., firefighters responded to a 2 ½-story apartment building near 105th and Avenue L due to high carbon monoxide readings inside.
Six children and three adults were evaluated by paramedics, and taken to hospitals for treatment. All of them were expected to recover.
Peoples Gas technicians responded to the scene, but it was not immediately clear what caused the carbon monoxide leak.
