76-Year-Old With Dementia Is Missing

CHICAGO (STWM) -- Police have issued a missing persons alert for a 76-year-old South Side man who has dementia.

Thomas Burton was last seen in the vicinity of the 10500 block of South Prairie Avenue earlier Monday, according to an alert from Calumet Area Special Victims Unit detectives.

Burton is a 5-foot-6, approximately 150-pound black man with brown eyes, gray hair, and a medium complexion, the alert said.

Burton may be wearing a dark green jacket, light blue jeans, black boots and has on a medic alert necklace. He suffers from dementia, and has no identification or money on him, police said.

Anyone who locates him is asked to call Calumet Area Special Victims Unit detectives, at (312) 747-8274, or 911.
