7 Wounded In Shootings Tuesday Across Chicago
At least seven people were wounded in shootings Tuesday across Chicago.
Most recently, a 25-year-old woman sitting in a car about 11:55 p.m. parked in the 8100 block of South Elizabeth in Auburn Gresham on the South Side was shot in the hand and ankle by someone who pulled up in a silver SUV, according to Chicago Police. She was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where her condition was stabilized.
About 10 p.m., a 25-year-old man was shot in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side. He was walking in the 5200 block of West Kamerling when he heard gunshots and realized he'd been hit in the right leg and back, police said. The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition was stabilized.
At 6:40 p.m., two men, ages 25 and 30, were each shot in the leg in the 4800 block of West Patterson in the Portage Park neighborhood on the Northwest Side, police said. They were both taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where their conditions were stabilized.
Eight hours earlier, a 23-year-old man was shot in the leg about 10:30 a.m. in the 800 block of North Monticello in the Humboldt Park neighborhood on the West Side, police said. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition was stabilized.
About 4:40 a.m., a man was shot in the Lakeview neighborhood on the North Side. The 22-year-old was shot in the buttocks in the 1000 block of West Belmont, police said. He later walked into Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where his condition was stabilized. Police said the man is a documented gang member and the shooting may have been a drive-by attack.
Tuesday's first shooting happened about 2:30 a.m. in the Gage Park neighborhood on the Southwest Side. A 20-year-old man was discovered lying on the sidewalk in the 5300 block of South California with gunshot wounds to the chest, jaw, left arm and back, police said. He was taken in critical condition to Stroger Hospital. Police said the victim is a documented gang member, and the shooting is most likely gang-related.
