7 Hurt In Crash Near United Center

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Seven people, including a newborn, were critically injured in a crash near the United Center early Wednesday morning.
A 21-year-old man from Massachusetts was driving a 2006 Toyota Highlander the wrong way down Warren Boulevard when he slammed head-on into a 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche near Wood Street at about 2 a.m., aurhorities said.
Seven people were taken in critical condition to Mount Sinai Hospital, John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County and Northwestern Memorial Hospital, according to Fire Media Affairs spokesman Quention Curtis.
The victims included the 21-year-old driver of the Highlander, his 23-year-old male passenger, the 39-year-old male driver of the Avalanche and his two passengers, a 16-year-old girl and a one-day-old infant girl, Police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli said.
It was not immediately known how many victims went to each hospital, Curtis said.
Brent Lander, the driver of the Highlander, was cited for driving the wrong way up a one way street, Mirabelli said.
