61-Year-Old Woman Shot In Gang Crossfire In South Shore
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A 61-year-old woman was shot while walking out of a corner store and being caught in gang crossfire Tuesday afternoon in the South Shore neighborhood.
The shooting occurred in the 2600 block of East 73rd Street at 1:40 p.m., police News Affairs Officer Jose Estrada said.
The victim was walking out of a store while people in three separate vehicles were shooting at each other, Grand Crossing District police Sgt. Matt Kolasa said.
The woman was hospitalized in "stable" condition at Northwestern Memorial Hospital with a gunshot wound to the stomach.
No one was in custody and Area Central detectives are investigating.
