600 Hit Same Number In Pick Four
CHICAGO (AP) - Move over seven, Illinoisans have a new lucky number. And at least 600 of them are cashing in on it.
That's how many people officials say lined up at the James R. Thompson Center in Chicago Friday to collect their Illinois Lottery winnings from Wednesday evening's Pick Four drawing.
All 600 had played the same winning numbers - 2-2-2-2.
Lottery representative Tracy Owens says repeating numbers are the most popular among players.
Winners will share about $8.4 million. Lottery officials tell the Chicago Sun-Times that could be the highest-ever total payout in the Pick Four game's history.
Winners can also claim their prizes at Lottery offices in Des Plaines, Rockford, Springfield and Fairview Heights.
