6, Including 2 Children, Seriously Injured In Kennedy Crash
CHICAGO (STMW) - Six people -- including two children -- were critically injured in a multi-vehicle accident on the Kennedy Expressway on the Northwest Side Saturday night.
About 8:15 p.m., an EMS Plan I, which sends five ambulances to the scene, was called for an auto accident in the express lanes of the Kennedy near Montrose Avenue, according to Fire Media Affairs spokesman Quention Curtis. Two additional ambulances were also sent to the scene, for a total of seven ambulances.
According to unconfirmed dispatch reports, seven to eight vehicles were involved in the crash.
Two juveniles were taken in serious to critical condition to Children's Memorial Hospital, Curtis said.
Two adults were taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in serious to critical condition, Curtis said.
Two other adults were taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, also in serious to critical condition, according to Curtis.
Curtis said 13 other people were treated at the scene by paramedics and did not require hospitalization.
