5 Picks For Late Night Dancing
By Lauren Wulf
When it's 12:00 a.m. and you just can't go home, there's always somewhere open in Chicago to get your dance on. They may not all be classy, the average age may be 22 and your shoes might get stuck to the ground, but there sure will be dancing. Here's an eclectic sampling of some of the best late night dancing spots in Chicago.
Hangge-Uppe
14 West Elm Street
Chicago, IL 60610
Facebook
If you're a regular on the late night scene, chances are you've been to the Hangge-Uppe. If you haven't been, you better get yourself there this weekend. The Hangge-Uppe is always jam-packed and full of fellow dancers. Hits from the 80s, 90s and beyond can be heard from all corners of the multi-level bar. Eager dancing fanatics can be seen lining the streets from 11p.m. on. Don't be scared off by the line. It goes fast and a crowded mass of dancing youngsters awaits you.
Snuggery
15 West Division Street
Chicago, IL 60610

The Snuggery is located on Division Street in the former Fin McCool's location. Downstairs, the Snuggery is a great place to hang out, catch up with friends and have a beer. Upstairs, you'll feel like you've entered a different bar. The huge, dark space is wide open and ready for the dance party. Come after hours and you'll find dancers in the windows, lining the floor and any surface the bartenders will allow.
Carol's Pub
4659 North Clark Street
Chicago, IL 60640
Feel like kicking it Country? Carol's is your spot. Pretend you know how to two-step, belt out "Friends In Low Places" with strangers and do it all until the sun comes up. Country lover or not, you can't find a hole in the wall with more music, dancing and good times than Carol's on the North side. Giddy-up.
Studio Paris / Paris Club
59 W Hubbard St
Chicago, IL 60654

It might be the complete opposite of Carol's, but Studio Paris is the trendiest place to see and be seen in River North these days. Studio Paris is the second floor of Paris Club on Hubbard. Functioning photo studio by day and nightclub by night, this is where you go when you're feeling fancy. And by fancy, I mean bottles with sparklers!
Big City Tap
1010 West Belmont Avenue
Chicago, IL 60657
Facebook
Big City Tap is a great alternative to late night bars in Wrigleyville and Lincoln Park. Big City is nestled right in between the craziness on Belmont. Cheap drinks, not so sober people and a big dance floor makes for an amazing late night gem.
