5 People Shot In Lawndale
CHICAGO (STMW) -- Five people – including a 17-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl – were shot early Sunday in the Lawndale neighborhood.
The five people, three males and two females, were in the 3300 block of West Douglas Boulevard about 2:15 a.m. with a large group when they heard shots and felt pain, according to police News Affairs, which initially reported the shooting in the 1400 block of South Christiana Avenue.
A 17-year-old boy was shot in the buttocks and groin and was taken in serious condition to Mount Sinai Hospital, police said.
An 18-year-old man, a 24-year-old man, a 19-year-old woman and a 16-year-old girl were also wounded in the shooting, police said. All were taken to area hospitals were they were listed in good condition Sunday morning.
The attack comes roughly three hours after another Lawndale shooting wounded four other people about a mile away in the 1300 block of South Avers Avenue, police said.
No one was in custody for either shooting Sunday morning.
Area Central detectives are investigating.
