Elmhurst, Elgin and Carol Stream ranked six through eight in total arrests statewide, with 367, 352 and 349, respectively.
Itasca had the highest average of arrests -- 11.48 for each of its 23 sworn officers. That more than doubled second-place Carol Stream, whose officers averaged 5.63 DUI arrests.
Itasca had the second-biggest boost in arrests year-to-year statewide, from 182 to 264, an increase of 45.1 percent. The St. Louis suburb of Fairview Heights had a 141.7 percent increase.
Chicago was not part of the statewide statistics; the city is in its own class.
But Chicago Police officers ranked second, third and sixth statewide among individual arrests; Town Hall District Officer Timothy Walter's 174 DUI-related arrests ranked second only to Rockford Police Investigator Rosemary Mathews, who had 181.
