4 Teens Wounded In South Side Shooting
CHICAGO (STMW) -- Four teenagers were shot as they sat on a porch in the South Side Grand Crossing neighborhood Monday afternoon.
The shooting happened about 2:50 p.m. on the 7200 block of South Evans Avenue, according to police News Affairs Officer Daniel O'Brien.
The victims were siting on the porch when someone approached them on foot, then took out a gun and opened fire, a report from police News Affairs said.
A 17-year-old male was shot in the hand and a 16-year-old boy was shot in the left forearm, the report said. They were both taken to Jackson Park Hospital, police said. They were in fair to serious condition, according to Fire Media Affairs Chief Kevin MacGregor.
A 16-year-old boy was shot in the shou8lder and taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, police said. His condition was reported to be "stable," according to police.
A 14-year-old boy received a gunshot wound to the back and was taken to Comer Children's Hospital in "trauma" or serious condition, MacGregor said.
No one was in custody as of about 4:45 p.m.
Calumet Area detectives are investigating.
