CHICAGO (CBS) -- Four people, including a 13-year-old, were wounded in a shooting inside a fitness studio on Monday night in Back of the Yards.

Around 8:30 p.m., police said the victims were inside a business located at 51st and Laflin Streets when shots were fired. The windows of the fitness studio were shattered, and bullet holes were found in the building.

Two of the victims were taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, one to UChicago's Comer Children's Hospital, also in serious-to-critical condition, and one to St. Bernard Hospital in good condition, according to the Chicago Fire Department.

The 13-year-old girl who was shot in the back and expected to be OK.

Chicago police are still working to find those responsible and even going door to door along 51st Street to see what evidence they can gather.

Just before 8:30 Monday night, they were called to Body Factory Nutrition at 51st and Laflin for a call of shots fired. They arrived to find four people shot and shattered glass.

Two women, a man, and a 13-year-old girl were all hit. One woman peeking inside to see the damage said she was here for last night's Zumba class.

She said they were celebrating Mexican Independence Day, and as they posed for a photo, shots rang out. A neighbor who heard the chaos is outraged that a child is among the victims.

"These kids should never have to be in danger coming to or from anywhere, no time of the day. It's unacceptable. It's totally unacceptable," said neighbor Edgar Brown.

He said there needs to be more patrolling in the neighborhood, especially since a school is just feet away from where it happened. It's unclear what the possible motive was.
