4 Injured In Roof Collapse At Family Dollar Store
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A roof caved in at a Chicago Family Dollar store Thursday night, injuring four people, but none of them gravely.
Firefighters were called to a building collapse at 11500 S. Normal Ave. about 6 p.m., according to Fire Media Affairs spokesman Richard Rosado said. He said a portion of the roof of the commercial building collapsed about 20 feet in from the street.
Four people inside the Family Dollar store at the time of the collapse were taken to area hospitals for treatment, Fire Media Affairs spokesman Quention Curtis said.
Three people were taken to Roseland Community Hospital, while one person was taken to Metro South Medical Center in Blue Island, Curtis said. Two were listed in good condition, while two others were in fair-to-serious condition.
