CHICAGO (CBS) -- A teenage boy was critically injured early Saturday in a hit-and-run crash in the East Chicago neighborhood. Three others were hurt in the wreck.
The crash happened at 2:25 a.m. at the intersection of 115th Street and Torrence Avenue, authorities said.
The four victims were inside a vehicle traveling north on Torrence Avenue, when it was struck on its driver's side by another vehicle at 2:25 a.m. at East 115th Street, police News Affairs Officer Michael Sullivan said. After the collision, the victims' vehicle struck a pole.
The other vehicle fled the scene and police do not have a description of it Saturday afternoon, Sullivan said.
Four people were hospitalized, according to Fire Department spokesman Will Knight, with two people in serious to critical condition going to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn and two people, also in serious to critical condition, being taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County. He did not have details on the victims' ages or genders.
Sullivan said a 14 or 15-year-old boy was considered the most seriously hurt and was being treated at Christ Medical Center.
