4 Dead, 22 Wounded In Weekend Shootings
CHICAGO (STMW) -- Four men were killed and at least 22 other people wounded in gun violence across the city since Friday night.
The most recent fatal shooting happened Saturday night in the West Side Humboldt Park neighborhood, when two men were shot about 10:10 p.m. in the 1000 block of North St. Louis Avenue, police said.
One man, 18, was shot multiple times and taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, where he was pronounced dead, police said. Another man, 24, was shot in the torso and taken in critical condition to Mount Sinai Hospital.
The Cook County Medical Examiner's office confirmed the fatality, but the man remained unidentified early Sunday.
One man was killed and another wounded in a separate shooting Saturday night in the South Side Bronzeville neighborhood.
The shooting happened about 6:15 p.m. in the 2900 block of South State Street, police said.
Ralph McNeal, 54, was taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, where he died at 7:10 p.m., according to the medical examiner's office.
Another man, 26, was also taken to Stroger in critical condition.
Early Saturday, another man was killed in the South Chicago neighborhood.
Jacoby Herron, 21, was outside with other people about 4 a.m. in the 2400 block of East 79th Street when someone started shooting, authorities said.
Herron, of the 7900 block of South Oglesby Avenue, was shot multiple times and was dead on the scene, authorities said.
The weekend's first fatal shooting happened late Friday in the Woodlawn neighborhood.
Kenneth Barbour, 18, was shot while arguing with another male about 8:10 p.m. in the 500 block of East 68th Street, authorities said.
Barbour, of the 1600 block of East 85th Street, died at John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County at 11:32 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
The most recent non-fatal shooting left a man seriously wounded on the West Side.
The man, 33, was shot in the chest and arm about 6:45 a.m. near South Komensky Avenue and West 32nd Street, police said. He was taken in serious condition to Mount Sinai Hospital.
No one is in custody for any of the attacks as area detectives investigate.
