3 Women Arrested After Fight Breaks Out At Beauty School Graduation
TINLEY PARK, Ill. (CBS) -- The occasion was a beauty school graduation, but the scene was less than beautiful this past weekend when a thrashing fight broke out.
Six people suffered injuries, and three women were arrested after what police called a "large disturbance" at the Tinley Park Convention Center.
An unnamed local beauty school was holding its graduation ceremony at the convention center on Sunday evening.
The six people who were hurt were treated at the scene, according to a news release issued Monday by Tinley Park police.
Police were called to the convention center at 6:18 p.m. Sunday, according to the release. When police arrived, including officers from several neighboring jurisdictions, they found "a large group of people involved in a fight in the front entryway of the convention center," the release said.
Tinley Park police told the Patch Monday that charges were pending against the three women who were arrested, and aggravated battery to a police officer was among them.
Police Cmdr. Steve Vaccaro told the Patch the brawl was an "argument that escalated."
