Five Shot Dead In South Shore: 4 Men At Restaurant, Pregnant Woman In Apartment
CHICAGO (CBS) -- It was a violent day in Chicago's South Shore neighborhood Thursday afternoon.
A pregnant woman and two young brothers were among the five victims gunned down in separate shootings, just blocks apart.
One incident claimed four lives.
Chicago police say a man walked up to Nadia Fish and Chicken, in the 2700 block of 75th Street, around 4 p.m. and started shooting. Once police arrived, two people were found dead inside, and then a third just outside.
A fourth body was found in a nearby back yard. All of the male victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
Three of the four shooting victims were identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office: Dillion Jackson, 20; Raheam Jackson, 19; and Emmanuel C. Stokes, 28. Family had not been notified about the fourth victim, officials said.
A Chicago police spokesperson says the incident is believed to be gang-related.
Earlier Thursday, 26-year-old Patrice Calvin – four months pregnant -- was found dead in an apartment on the 7500 block of Luella. A source tells CBS 2 that shooting may have been domestic-related.
Area Central detectives are investigating.
