3 Shot, 1 Dead In Humboldt Park Attack
CHICAGO (CBS) -- One person was killed and two others were wounded in a shooting Tuesday morning in the Humboldt Park neighborhood.
At about 10:35 a.m., three victims were shot while they were involved in a large fight on the 3300 block of West North Avenue, police said.
The three victims -- ages 25, 26 and 28 -- ran across the street from the scene of the fight and a vehicle pulled up, someone got out, opened fire, and wounded the three. The 25-year-old was dead on the scene, police said.
The two victims who werte transported to hospitals were taken from the scene in serious to critical condition, according to Fire Media Affairs spokesman Rich Rosado. One was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital; the other to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County.
A spokesman for the Cook County Medical Examiner's office confirmed the office had been notified of the death from the shooting but the man's identity was not available as of about 2:45 p.m.
Grand Central Area detectives are investigating.
