CHICAGO (CBS) -- Two adults and a child were rescued from a home in West Pullman, after being trapped by a fire officials believe was a case of arson.
A Fire Department spokesperson said firefighters responded around 5:30 a.m. to a fire at 20 E. 117th St., to find three people trapped inside the home on the second floor. The rear of the home had been boarded up.
Police said the fire apparently started when someone threw an incendiary device through a window on the first floor.
Firefighters rescued two adults and a child from the fire. A woman and child were taken to Roseland Community Hospital with minor injuries, and were listed in good condition. The adult male did not need to go to the hospital.
A gas can had been left on the front porch of the home, and police and fire officials were investigating.
The Fire Department said the home sustained significant damage from the fire.
