3 Percent ComEd Rate Hike May Be Coming
CHICAGO (WBBM) -- If the Illinois Commerce Commission goes along with the recommendation of its judge, your ComEd bill will soon go up by about 3 percent.

An administrative judge recommended the ICC allow ComEd a rate increase of $166 million, about half what the utility is requesting.
Citizens Utility Board spokesman Jim Chilsen says his group is gratified the judge slashed the request, but thinks a 3 percent hike is still too much.
"ComEd is so healthy that it should be giving its customers a $40 million rate cut," Chilsen said.
The ICC staff had recommended a $103 million rate hike. After an 11-month review, the full commission is due to rule on the ComEd request sometime before May 24.
