3 More Tollway Gas Stations Closed All Day
DES PLAINES, Ill. (CBS) -- Three more gas stations are unavailable Thursday on the Illinois Tollway system.
The gas stations at the Des Plaines, O'Hare and Chicago Southland Lincoln oases are closed Thursday, as work progresses to convert their adjacent stores from ExxonMobil to 7-11. There is no gas service while the swap is going on.
Computer systems and signage need to be changed, and machines for 7-11 products such as the Slurpee and Big Gulp are being installed. The fuel sold will remain Exxon Mobil, though.
This is the second day of gas station closures on the tollway system. On Wednesday, the Hinsdale, Lake Forest, Belvidere and DeKalb stations were closed for the transition.
Pavilion stores, restrooms and customer services at highway oases remain open.
