3 Men Attacked While Leaving Buffalo Grove Banquet Hall
BUFFALO GROVE, Ill. (CBS) -- Two men were stabbed and a third was punched over the weekend, as they left a banquet hall in northwest suburban Buffalo Grove over the weekend.
Police say the three were leaving Versailles Banquets, at 100 N. McHenry Rd., about 1:25 a.m. Saturday when they were jumped by at least one person who got out of a sport-utility vehicle, according to a Buffalo Grove police report.
Two of the men were stabbed in the abdomen and back, while another – the brother of one of the other victims – was punched in the face, police said.
The attackers then jumped back into the silver Mercedes SUV and fled the scene.
All three victims were in their late 20s to early 30s, and could only describe one of the attackers as being a light-skinned Hispanic man in his 30s, Buffalo Grove police Cmdr. Steve Husak said.
It's unclear what type of event the victims were attending at the banquet hall, according to Husak. The men told police they had not argued with anyone inside and did not know who attacked them.
One of the stabbing victims was taken to Northwester Community Healthcare in Arlington Heights and another to Condell Health Network in Libertyville, Husak said. The third man refused medical treatment.
"We don't know if they were targeted or if they knew them," Husak said. "They just told us they were jumped by these couple of subjects, who then got away."
