3 Hurt In Head-On Crash In Wheaton
WHEATON, Ill. (STMW) -- A van struck a pickup head-on, sending three people to a hospital Thursday morning at a busy intersection in west suburban Wheaton.
The crash occurred about 10 a.m. at the intersection of Roosevelt Road and President Street, according to Wheaton Deputy Police Chief Thomas Meloni.
A van was westbound on Roosevelt when for an unknown reason it veered into the eastbound lanes, striking a pickup with three people inside head-on, Meloni said.
Three adults were taken to Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield with injuries that were not life-threatening.
Two people were inside the van, including the driver, who was ticketed. Meloni did not know immediately what he was cited for.
Meloni said the busy intersection was clear of ice.
