3 Held In South Side Shooting, Chase
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Three people were in police custody Thursday morning after a shooting and chase that began on the city's South Side and ended in Dolton.
About 9:45 p.m. Wednesday, a man was shot twice in the leg and once in the abdomen in the 6900 block of South Yale Avenue in the Hamilton Park neighborhood, according to Fire Media Affairs Director Larry Langford.
He was "alert and talking" and taken in stable condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Langford said.
Afterward, Chicago Police began pursuing a vehicle involved in the shooting on the Bishop Ford Expressway, police News Affairs Officer Ronald Gaines said.
Illinois State Police were asked to assist Chicago Police, an Illinois State Police District Chicago trooper said.
The chase ended with three suspects in custody in Dolton, Gaines said.
No charges had been filed as of 8:30 a.m. Thursday.
