CHICAGO (CBS) - Three people were critically hurt when an SUV slammed head-on into a wall in the River North neighborhood downtown early Monday.
At 3:50 a.m., a vehicle ran into a wall at the intersection of Kinzie and Franklin streets, police News Affairs officer Amina Greer said.
The driver -- a man in his late 20s -- and two other men were injured in the crash when a 2004 Infinity SUV collided with a support pillar for an underground garage near Merchandise Mart, according to police News Affairs John Mirabelli.
The three men were all transported in critical condition, Fire Media Affairs Chief Kevin MacGregor said.
The cause of the crash was unknown Monday morning, Mirabelli said.
CBS 2's Don Schwenneker reported the CTA Brown Line was rerouted for a period of time after the accident, but it was back to normal by around 5 a.m.
