3 Chicago Women Killed In Milwaukee In Uber Car Crash
(CBS) -- A tragic weekend in Milwaukee kills three young women visiting from Chicago.
Amy Taylor, Ashley Sawatzke and Lindsey Cohen at one time all worked together at a Chicago advertising agency.
The three were riding in an Uber Sunday in Milwaukee, when someone ran a red light hitting their car and killing all three women, CBS 2's Marissa Bailey reports.
Reggie Snead was Amy Taylor's neighbor. "She was really friendly and outgoing," he said.
Taylor and Cohen recently worked together at Energy BBDO. In a statement, the president, Tonise Paul says, "We are absoutely devastated by the loss of these three incredible, exhuberant young women who were taken from us far too soon.
Sawatzke recently took a job at Leo Burnett. In a statement, Vice President Tina Janczura says, "She was a valued and loved member of the Leo Burnett fmaily."
The Uber driver was hurt and still in the hospital as of late Monday (Oct. 24). He says he feels lucky to be alive, and is deeply saddened for the loss of his three passengers.
In a statement Monday, Uber Spokeswoman Tracey Breeden says, "Our hearts and thoughts are with our driver partner and the grieving families impacted by this horribly tragic acciddnt. We will support the police investigation in every way possible."
The driver of the car who hit the woman initially ran from the scene, however turned himself in late Monday. Charges against the driver are pending.
