3 Busted Burglarizing Jewish High School In West Rogers Park
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Police have arrested two convicted felons and a teenage boy after catching them red-handed burglarizing the Ida Crown Jewish Academy in the West Rogers Park neighborhood.
Police say John Allen, 24; Dominick Wing, 19; and a 16-year-old boy, broke into the high school at 2828 W. Pratt Blvd. by breaking a window in the kitchen just after midnight Tuesday morning.
Both uniformed and tactical officers responded and saw the three inside the building, which was locked and closed. All three tried to run but officers were able to nab them after a brief chase, police said.
The three were targeting TVs and computers in the school and had broken into the academy's computer lab, police said.
Allen, of the 1600 block of South Hamlin Avenue; Wing, of the 400 block of South Ridgeway Avenue; and the teenage boy were each charged with one felony count of burglary, police said.
Both Allen and Wing are convicted felons. The three are scheduled to appear in bond court later Tuesday.
