22-Year-Old Killed In Crash In Cicero
CICERO, Ill. (STMW) - A 22-year-old Cicero man was killed in a collision between a semi truck and another vehicle in the west suburb Sunday afternoon.
The crash involved a semi and a private vehicle at 34th Street and Cicero Avenue, according to Cicero spokesman Ray Hanania. A fire department dispatcher said emergency personnel were notified of the crash about 12:50 p.m.
Killed was Janusz Stasik, 22, of S. Lotus in Cicero, according to a spokesman for the Cook County Medical Examiner's office. He was pronounced dead on the scene at 1:04 p.m., according to the medical examiner's office.
Others may have been hurt in the crash, Hanania said, but he did not immediately have any additional details.
Stickney police closed off Cicero at 39th Street and were assisting Cicero police, according to Hanania. The immediate area remained closed to traffic through the afternoon.
