CHICAGO (CBS) -- A 22-year-old man was fatally shot Monday in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.

Two male suspects got out of a vehicle stopped at 60th Street and Winchester Avenue and began to chase Brown, Alfaro said. They fired shots, striking him in the leg.

Brown was pronounced dead at Mount Sinai Hospital at 4:08 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

Descriptions of the suspects and the vehicle were not immediately available early Tuesday.

In another shooting in Englewood, a male suspect fleeing police was shot by officers early Tuesday.

The incident began about 12:20 a.m. when Englewood District officers approached a vehicle in the 5800 block of South Elizabeth Street to conduct a field interview, according to a statement from police News Affairs.

A male suspect got out of a vehicle and fled on foot, the statement said. Responding officers later saw a person matching the suspect's description on the 5800 block of South Racine Avenue. One officer fired at the suspect after he allegedly pointed a gun at police.

No officers were hurt and police recovered a weapon from the scene, the statement said. The suspect was taken into custody and taken to an area hospital in critical condition.
