Bears Tickets: Packers Game Most Expensive, Bucs Contest Cheapest
(TiqIQ/CBS) - The Chicago Bears might not have improved their overall record in 2013 over 2012, but the first year under head coach Marc Trestman provided a lot of promise for the future. With an improved defense, the Bears should be in the hunt for a playoff spot at the end of the season. With the release of the 2014 NFL schedule, Chicago can now take a look at the exact order of teams they'll have to go through to reach that point.
For Bears fans, the release of the schedule now gives them an idea of how much Chicago Bears tickets will cost for each game during the season. According to TiqIQ, the Bears have an average secondary market price of $348.40 for home games during the 2014 season, one of the highest averages in the league.
Below is a game-by-game breakdown of home games on the 2014 Chicago Bears schedule and their secondary market prices.
Week 1 vs. Buffalo Bills | Avg: $331.61 | Get-in: $143
Chicago opens up their home schedule against E.J. Manuel and the Bills in a game that is slightly cheaper than the home game season average ($348). The Bills aren't the toughest opponent in the world, but we'll at least get a good look at how Chicago's revamped run defense can handle an explosive runner, as they take on C.J. Spiller out of Buffalo's backfield. It's still a matchup in favor of the Bears, though, so they have a good chance at getting their home schedule kicked (and season) off with a win. Being that it's both the season and home opener, Chicago fans are getting a pretty nice deal.
Week 4 vs. Green Bay Packers | Avg: $420.57 | Get-in: $187
It's never a small matter when Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers come to town, as Jay Cutler and the Bears gear up for a huge divisional showdown to cap the month of September. This one rises up over the season average by roughly $80, but is still a very good value considering how big of a matchup it is. A-Rod and co. got the better of the Bears in the regular season finale last season, so the Bears will be out for blood in a potential shootout.
Week 7 vs. Miami Dolphins | Avg: $325.15 | Get-in: $115
Ryan Tannehill and the Fins come to town after a nice road trip, making this one a welcome homecoming for the Bears. Miami is a pretty balanced team, but Chicago has more pure talent and should hold the upper hand. Fans get a minor discount in comparison to the regular season home average.
Week 11 vs. Minnesota Vikings | Avg: $347.67 | Get-in: $114
Chicago gears up for it's second division battle of 2014 at home, as they welcome Adrian Peterson and the Vikings into town. If C.J. Spiller didn't end up being a test for Chicago's run defense in week one, Peterson surely will be in this matchup. This one comes right around the Bears' average ticket price at home, so it's a solid value for a big division battle and likely win.
Week 12 vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers | Avg: $314.10 | Get-in: $112
Lovie Smith returns to Chicago in a mid-November matchup that is surely to garner some hype during the week. Smith knows the Bears extremely well and so does Tampa's quarterback, Josh McCown. Marc Trestman is the guy who coached McCown up, though, so this could end up being a nasty game that goes down to the wire. Bears fans are in for a treat and a discount, as this one comes in $30 under the home game season average.
Week 14 vs. Dallas Cowboys | Avg: $387.38 | Get-in: $173
Tony Romo and Jay Cutler clash for an epic Chicago Bears/Dallas Cowboys battle in early December, as both teams will likely be positioning for the playoffs and will need a big win. This game has serious shootout potential and is still only about $40 more expensive than Chicago's normal home game. Every Chicago fan will want to be on site for this one.
Week 15 vs. New Orleans Saints | Avg: $338.42 | Get-in: $123
Not too long after hosting Romo and the Cowboys, Chicago has another dangerous offense in town when Drew Brees and the Saints come to town. This won't be an easy win by any means, but the good news is it will probably be cold. New Orleans isn't a great road team out in the cold, so Bears fans will cross their fingers in hopes they will see some snow.
Week 16 vs. Detroit Lions | Avg: $328.53 | Get-in: $113
The second cheapest home game on the Chicago Bears schedule is another division rival, as Calvin Johnson and the Lion clan march into Chicago. It's Chicago's final game at home during the regular season, so they'll look to send their fans off in style in what could be a wild contest.
