2 Women Charged With DUI At Same Time, Same Place
NAPERVILLE, Ill. (STMW) -- Police say they started out socializing together at a downtown bar. Then they allegedly committed traffic violations together not far from the police station, while driving home one behind the other.
And then they ended up being arrested together on identical charges of drunken driving.
Naperville residents Brenda G. Loth and Tami R. Lucibello, both 41, are even scheduled to be arraigned together on Jan. 15 in the same courtroom, according to records on file in DuPage County Circuit Court in Wheaton.
Loth lives on the 2600 block of Wabash Court, in the River Woods area of the city's far southeast side. Lucibello lives on the 2800 block of Vernal Lane, in the Windridge neighborhood on the southwest side.
Police Sgt. Lou Cammiso confirmed the women were arrested about 1 a.m. Dec. 14 while driving their vehicles near Aurora Avenue and Wild Cherry Road. That intersection is in the unincorporated Lawn Meadow area of DuPage County and several blocks east of the Naperville police station.
An officer on patrol "noticed them committing lane violations and stop sign violations" as they drove, Cammiso said. The officer curbed one of the vehicles, which prompted the other driver to stop as well, he said.
Another patrol officer arrived on the scene a short time later, Cammiso said. Both officers spoke with the women.
Lucibello allegedly told one of the officers she had been out several hours earlier with workplace friends at a downtown bar, and that Loth had been with them, Cammiso said. The women allegedly told police they left the bar at the same time, got into their vehicles and began driving home together.
Court records indicated Loth was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, improper lane usage and disobeying a stop sign. Lucibello was charged with DUI, making an improper turn and driving without having a front or rear license plate on her vehicle, records showed.
A passenger in Lucibello's vehicle — Michael A. Kollarits, 44, of Golden, Colo. — was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
Lucibello has no record in DuPage County, according to court documents.
Loth was fined in November 2008 after pleading guilty to a charge of driving 26 to 30 miles over the posted speed limit, court records indicated. She was ordered to perform community service work and placed on supervision after pleading guilty in February 2008 in separate misdemeanor cases involving battery in Lombard and harassment by telephone in Wood Dale, records showed.
Both women are free on bond.
