2 Vehicles Wrecked In West Side Crash
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Two vehicles were demolished early Monday in a crash on the city's West Side.
As CBS 2's Kris Habermehl reports, a car and a sport-utility vehicle collided at the intersection of Chicago Avenue and Sacramento Boulevard, on the cusp of the Humboldt Park and East Garfield Park neighborhoods, sometime before 6:30 a.m.
The car was left lying on the side of the roadway, while the SUV went over the sidewalk and ended up on the adjacent grassy area.
Fire Department ambulances responded to the scene, but information about injuries was not immediately available.
As of 6:40 a.m., the intersection was fully open, but police were blocking one spot on the southeast corner of the intersection, where oil, transmission fluid and coolant had spilled.
