2 Teens Shot While Running From Gunmen
CHICAGO (STMW) - Two teens were in good condition after they were shot Friday night in an alley in the South Chicago neighborhood.
Two boys, ages 14 and 15, were involved in a fight with unknown males about 9:25 p.m. while in the 7800 block of South Chappel Avenue, police News Affairs Officer Ronald Gaines said.
Afterward, they began walking down the alley and took off running when they heard gunshots, a report from police News Affairs said. Both young men felt pain and realized they had been shot.
The 14-year-old suffered gunshots to the wrist and buttocks and the 15-year-old was shot in the right thigh, according to the report. Both were taken to Comer Children's Hospital at the University of Chicago, in good condition, Gaines said.
No one was in custody as of early Saturday and Calumet Area detectives are investigating.
