2 Suspects Charged With Strangling Man In Little Village
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Two men have been charged with the murder of a man who was found strangled this week in the Little Village neighborhood.
Osmar Alejo, 25, of the 3000 block of South Tripp Ave., and Santiago Garcia, 46, of the 3000 block of South Harding Ave., were both charged with first-degree murder, according to police News Affairs.
Alejo and Garcia are scheduled to appear for a bond hearing Thursday in Violence Court (Br. 66) at the Cook County Criminal Courthouse, police said.
A police report said the suspects used a crowbar to beat and asphyxiate the victim, identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner's office as Chris Pinkins, 27, who was pronounced dead at Mount Sinai Hospital at 3:23 p.m. Tuesday after he was found unresponsive at 3001 S. Pulaski Rd. about an hour earlier.
An autopsy on Wednesday found Pinkins died of strangulation and his death was ruled a homicide, according to the medical examiner's office.
