2 Shot In Drive-By On Near West Side
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man and a teenage boy were wounded during a drive-by shooting on the Near West Side late Monday night.
The two – ages 47 and 16 – were walking with a group in the 200 block of South Western Avenue when gunfire erupted from a light-colored sedan as it drove past them about 11:30 p.m., police said.
The two later told police a single gunman shot at them from inside the vehicle.
The 47-year-old man was taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County after bullets hit him in both ankles, police said. He was listed in "stable" condition.
A family member of the 16-year-old drove him to Stroger Hospital with a single gunshot wound to his left heel, police said. He was also listed in "stable" condition.
No one was in custody as Area Central detectives investigated.
