2 Men Sought In Halloween Night Gary Shooting Death
GARY, Ind.(STMW) -- Terence Farmer was standing outside the Glen Park home he shares with his mother when two men walked up and shot him to death Thursday night, police said.
Detective Lorenzo Davis said he and Detective Daryl Gordon have not identified a motive, but noted it is early in the investigation.
"We don't know if it was a robbery," Davis said.
Farmer, 57, was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:30 p.m., a news release from the Lake County coroner states.
The shooting occurred outside in the 3200 block of Georgia Street about 6:30 p.m., at the height of trick-or-treating throughout the region. But the victim's home sits in a somewhat desolate area just north of the long-vacant Franklin Elementary School. There are no adjacent homes. Davis said witnesses he spoke to didn't report seeing any children going door-to-door in the area when the shots were fired.
"One lady was taking out her garbage; she didn't see anyone," Davis said.
Police believe the suspects are two men who wore black hooded sweatshirts and masks. No additional description was available.
