2 Killed, 4 Wounded In Overnight Violence
CHICAGO (STMW) -- Two men were killed and four others were wounded in violence across the city since Tuesday night, including a man who was shot to death while riding bike in the Englewood neighborhood.
The man, believed to be in his 20s, was one of two shot in the 5800 block of South Sangamon Street about 1:30 a.m., police said.
The man, who was shot in the head, was dead at the scene, according to authorities.
The other man, 28, was shot in the backside and was listed in "stable" condition at an area hospital, police said.
The other fatality occurred on the West Side when a 28-year-old man was stabbed to death at his Lawndale neighborhood home in the 3300 block of West Douglas Boulevard about 12:40 a.m., authorities said.
Police said the man was stabbed during a "domestic dispute" and was dead at the scene, according to the medical examiner's office. One person was in custody, but police were not releasing additional details Wednesday morning.
The most recent non-fatal shooting occurred in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood on the South Side about 4:20 a.m.
The 22-year-old man was in the 800 block of East 78th Street when he was shot in the backside, police said. The shooting was believed to be gang-related, according to police.
The man was taken in "stable" condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said.
Another man was shot in the same neighborhood about two hours earlier.
About 2:10 a.m., the 25-year-old man was shot in the leg in the 1200 block of East 69th Street, police said. He was in good condition at Saint Bernard hospital, police said.
On the Northwest Side, a man was shot and seriously wounded in the Belmont Cragin neighborhood about 11:56 p.m. Tuesday night, police said.
The 19-year-old man was shot multiple times in the 4800 block of West Fletcher Street about 11:56 p.m., police said. He was at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in serious condition, police said.
