UPDATED: 11/27/10 - 4:24 p.m.
CHICAGO (STMW) - A man and woman were killed when a motorist disobeyed a red light and collided with their vehicle late Friday on the Northwest Side.
Javier Cisneros and Deborah Ceglarek, both 51, were killed in the crash, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office. A Saturday autopsy determined Cisneros died of multiple injuries from a vehicle collision and Ceglarek died of head injuries from a vehicle collision. Both deaths were ruled accidental.
The crash happened about 11:05 p.m. in the 3900 block of West Addison Street, police said.
The driver of a 1998 four-door Honda Accord was speeding north on North Pulaski Road when he disobeyed a red light and collided with another vehicle, police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli said.
Cisneros, of an unidentified home address, was pronounced dead at John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County at 11:46 p.m. Friday and Ceglarek, of 5241 W. Irving Park Rd., was pronounced dead at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center at 11:39 p.m. Friday, according to the medical examiner's office.
The driver of the Accord was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center and was initially listed in "stable" condition, fire officials said.
The man remained at the hospital Saturday and had not yet been charged or cited, police said.
The police Major Accidents Investigations Unit is investigating.
