2 Found Dead In Double Homicide In Sycamore; No Suspects In Custody

CHICAGO (CBS) – A mother and her son were found Monday evening dead in the mother's Sycamore home.
These double homicides were not the only crime committed. The suspect is believed to have broken into the home and stolen a car.
DeKalb county sheriff's investigators do not yet know if the double homicide was targeted or not.
Taken from the home was a white, 2010 four-door Chevrolet Impala with an Illinois license plate of 903-0980.
Investigators believe finding the stolen car from the home will link them to more information on the double homicide. They are checking tolls and other surveillance in the area to locate the car.
Inside the home, 85-year-old Patricia Wilson and her 64-year-old son, Robert Wilson, were found dead from apparent blunt force trauma.
"Still a little bit shook about the whole thing," Brett Miller, a neighbor said. "They were nice people."
Officers responded to a death investigation call around 6 p.m. Monday night, made by a family member who went to check on them.

"It appears that there was forced entry into the residence," DeKalb County sheriff's investigators said.
The home, in the 16000 block of Old State Road in Sycamore, is located on an expansive farm field in unincorporated Sycamore. The Wilsons did not farm here, but rather rented out the land.
Patricia Wilson's husband died a few years ago, neighbors said. She lived by herself, but her son would come by to help her and check up on her. Robert Wilson was a $1 million lottery prize back in 1988 at the Taste of Chicago.
"Our hearts go out to the family," Deputy Chief Andy Sullivan said. "This is a horrible crime perpetrated on an elderly mother and her son. I can assure you that the DeKalb County Sherriff will do everything possible to find who is responsible for this crime."
The DeKalb County Major Case Squad is helping with this investigation. It brings together resources from multiple law enforcement agencies, including more than 20 detectives.
There is no indication that the person responsible for these crimes is still in the area. The DeKalb County sheriff's office reminds residents to remain vigilant and use safety precautions.
