2 Emergency Landings For American Airlines Flight From Chicago
CHICAGO (CBS) -- An American Airlines flight from Chicago ended up experiencing two unscheduled landings Tuesday morning.
First, Flight 98, headed to London from O'Hare International Airport, landed in Newfoundland, Canada, with a medical emergency onboard.
The flight took off again, only to land a second time in Shannon, Ireland, with the report of the smell of smoke in the cabin. Maintenance there determined it was an issue with a fan that could wait until London.
When Flight 98 finally arrives in London Heathrow International Airport, it will be about 20 hours late.
This comes on the heels of unscheduled landings for American Airlines, caused by a loose row of seats and an ill pilot in recent days.
