2 Dead, 2 Injured In Overnight Shootings
CHICAGO (CBS/STMW) - A man and woman died in separate shootings on the South Side, while two men were injured in shootings on the West and Northwest Sides.
Police found Erika Greene, 40, fatally shot inside a vehicle outside her South Side home. The vehicle was on a lawn, where it stopped after having struck a parked car, police News Affairs Sgt. Antoinette Ursitti said.
Greene, of the 8000 block of S. Princeton Ave., was pronounced dead on the scene at 7:20 p.m. Saturday, the medical examiner's office said.
A 27-year-old man was shot late Saturday in the Albany Park neighborhood on the Northwest Side. He was shot in the leg at 11:35 p.m. in the 4700 block of North Albany Avenue, police said.
The man was taken in good condition to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center.
A man was shot in the neck at 1:25 a.m. Sunday in the 1800 block of South Ridgeway Avenue in the Lawndale neighborhood.
The man, whose age was unknown, was taken in "stable" condition to Mount Sinai Hospital, police said.
Kirk Orellana, 23, was fatally shot in the neck at 3:30 a.m. Sunday in the 2500 block of West 51st Street on the Southwest Side.
Orellana, of the 5200 block of S. Maplewood Ave., was pronounced dead at 4:11 a.m. at Mount Sinai Hospital, the medical examiner's office said.
Calumet, Wentworth, Harrison, and Grand Central Area detectives are investigating, but no one is in custody early Sunday.
