2 Children, 2 Adults Hurt In Crash After Police Chase

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A high-speed chase with Chicago Police ended Tuesday morning with four people hospitalized, including children.
As CBS 2's Susanna Song reports, police say people in the car were throwing drugs out the window during their pursuit.
As of 5 a.m. Tuesday, a 22-year-old woman was in critical condition at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. She was initially unresponsive and police thought she was dead, but paramedics were able to revive her before bringing her to the hospital.

Police said the woman was behind the wheel trying to evade police in a drug-related traffic pursuit around 11 p.m. Monday. P.
Police say they tried to pull over the woman's car in the 8700 block of South Wood Street after they got a tip that there were drugs inside, but instead of stopping, they say she sped away.
Police chased the woman for about half a mile, as drugs went flying out of the car. Her car then hit railroad tracks, went airborne, and crashed into a light pole near 90th Street and Ashland Avenue.
Police say there were two children – a 3-year-old boy and an 11-month-old boy – and a man riding with the woman. All were critically wounded, but the children had been upgraded to good condition by 5 a.m.
The man and one child were brought to Advocate Christ, while the other child was taken to Comer Children's Hospital at the University of Chicago Medicine.
Police say they found drugs and a weapon inside the car.
As of 9:45 a.m., no charges had been filed.
