$1M Bond For Man Charged With Sexual Abuse of Child
ST. CHARLES, Ill. (STMW) - A Chicago man was ordered held on $1 million bond on Thursday after being charged with allegedly sexually abusing a northwest suburban child multiple times over an eight-year span.
Victor M. Ponce, 32, is charged with two counts of Class X felony predatory sexual assault of a child and two counts of Class 2 felony aggravated sexual abuse of a victim under 13, court records stated.
The charges allege that Ponce had repeated sexual contact with a girl he knew while he lived in Carpentersville, an official from the Kane County State's Attorney's office said. The alleged abuse happened between 2001 and 2009.
Ponce appeared Thursday for bond call at the Kane County Judicial Center in front of Judge Leonard Wojtecki, who set Ponce's bail at $1 million, court records said. If Ponce posts bail, he is to have no contact with the victim and no contact with anyone younger than 18. He is to appear in court Nov. 12.
