19-Year-Old Shot To Death In North Lawndale
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A 19-year-old man was shot to death late Saturday in the North Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side.
About 11:50 p.m. the man -- identified as Deonre Douglas of 2246 S. Central Park Ave., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office -- was walking on the 1400 block of South Millard Avenue, when a gunman approached and fired multiple times at the victim, striking him in the chest, according to a report from police News Affairs. The shooter then fled on foot.
Douglas was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 12:40 a.m., the medical examiner's office said. The shooter was not in custody as of later Sunday morning.
Harrison Area detectives are investigating.
