167 People Won Bet That Suarez Would Bite Someone At The World Cup

(CBS) It's one thing to have a bad reputation. It's another to have a bad reputation that precedes you to the extent that sports books entertain bets on your stupidity.

Such is the case for Uruguay star striker Luis Suarez, who bit Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini late in their match Tuesday. While startling and dumbfounding, this was sadly not surprising. Suarez had twice been suspended for biting foes in club ball in the past four years.

Which explains why a Betsson, a online Norwegian gambling site, posted a prop bet at 175-1 odds that Suarez would bite someone during the World Cup.

Now 167 people have reportedly cashed in after making the bet.

From ESPN.com:

Andreas Bardun, sportsbook manager for gambling site Betsson, said 167 gamblers placed bets on the prop. The biggest winner was a Norwegian who won $3,300, he said, but he cited company policy not to disclose any of the names of its bettors.
