$150K Bond For Driver In Fatal Crash On Lake Shore Drive
CHICAGO (STMW) -- Bond was set at $150,000 on Monday for a motorist charged with DUI after allegedly hitting and killing a pedestrian early Saturday near Millennium Park.
Jimmy Members, 45, was driving a 1999 Cadillac Seville when he allegedly struck a pedestrian crossing Lake Shore Drive at Monroe Street about 1:15 a.m. Saturday, according to police.
On Monday, Members was ordered held on $150,000 bond and a preliminary hearing was set for Oct. 14, Cook County State's Attorney's office spokesman Andrew Conklin said.
Stephen Dapogny, 50, of 17705 NE. 29th St. in Redmond, Wash., was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:27 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
Members, of the 2400 block of West Madison, was initially cited with hitting a pedestrian in the roadway, according to police.
Charges were later upgraded to aggravated DUI resulting in death and DUI, according to police.
