14 Wounded, 2 Dead In Overnight Shootings

CHICAGO (STMW) -- At least 14 people were shot and wounded and two men are dead following a series of shootings during an eight-hour span throughout the city late Saturday and early Sunday.
In the most recent attack during those hours, 44-year-old Cedrick Allen was shot at 5:39 a.m. Sunday at 301 S. Lavergne Ave., according to police and the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
Allen, of 20138 Arroyo Ave. in south suburban Lynwood, was pronounced dead at 6:15 a.m. at Mount Sinai Hospital, according to the medical examiner's office. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.
A separate murder was found on the Far South Side at 9:30 p.m. Saturday after officers responding to an anonymous call found the body of a man shot to death lying on the floor on the floor in the front living room of a vacant building in the 0-100 block of East 101st Place, police News Affairs Officer Laura Kubiak said.
The Cook County Medical Examiner's office said the man, whose body was decomposed, remains unidentified Sunday afternoon, died of a gunshot wound to the head and his death was ruled a homicide.
Fourteen others others were wounded including a woman who walked into a firehouse about 9:40 p.m. Saturday in the 4100 block of West West End Avenue with a gunshot wound to the knee, police said. She did not provide details about the shooting, and paramedics took her in good condition to Mount Sinai Hospital.
Also on the West Side two men were shot in the abdomen at 10:43 p.m., in the 3500 block of West Medill Avenue, police said.
At 10:55 p.m. Saturday, an 18-year-old man standing on a porch in the 3000 block of East 79th Street was shot by several gunmen on foot, police said. He was taken in "stable" condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn with a gunshot wound to the lower back.
About 15 minutes later, a man was shot in the arm and leg in the 1600 block of East 86th Place, police said. He was taken in good condition to Christ Medical Center.
At 11:24 p.m. Saturday, a 24-year-old man on the sidewalk in the 5800 block of South Wabash Avenue was shot in the cheek and taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County in "stable" condition, police said.
Early Sunday, at 12:32 a.m., a 31-year-old man in an alley in the 6300 block of South Morgan Street was shot in the lower back, police said.
About 30 minutes later, a 30-year-old man walking in the 8800 block of South Exchange Avenue was shot in the left ankle and taken in "stable" condition to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, police said.
At 1:28 a.m., a 44-year-old man sitting in a parked vehicle in the 100 block of West 70th Street was shot in the head and taken in critical condition to Christ Medical Center, police said.
About 15 minutes later, a 20-year-old man was shot in the abdomen area in the 4900 block of West Quincy Street, police said. He was initially taken to West Suburban Medical in Oak Park and transferred to Stroger Hospital.
About 1:50 a.m., a man was shot in the leg in the 4800 block of North Sheridan Road, police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said. He was taken in good condition to Weiss Memorial Hospital.
On the West Side at 2:29 a.m. someone shot a 21-year-old man in the leg at 3862 W. Madison St., police said. The victim was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where his condition was not life-threatening.
At 2:46 a.m., a man and woman inside a vehicle in the 4700 block of West West End Avenue were shot by a gunman inside a vehicle that pulled alongside, police said. The 29-year-old woman was shot in the abdomen area and leg and taken in serious condition to Stroger Hospital, while the 34-year-old man was shot was shot in the leg and taken to the hospital in good condition.
About 24 hours earlier, two people were killed and at least eight others were wounded by violence during a six-hour span.
Chicago Police detectives are investigating all the shootings.
