12 Displaced By Far South Side Fire

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A dozen people were forced from their homes, after a fire broke out on the city's Far South Side.
The fire broke out around 10:20 p.m. in the first floor of a two-story townhouse at 849 W. 122nd St., authorities said. It spread to the first and second floors of the building.
No one was hurt, but eight adults and four children were displaced, Fire Media Affairs spokesman Richard Rosado said.
The American Red Cross provided shelter, clothing, shoes, and infant supplies to those displaced, said spokeswoman Martha Carlos.
The fire was extinguished at 10:57 p.m., Rosado said. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Just about five blocks to the west on 122nd Street back in November, a 1 1/2-story frame house exploded and burst into flames.
Three people were injured and the house was leveled in the Nov. 28 incident near Ada Street.
