1 Hurt In Car, Semi Crash On Reagan Tollway
OAK BROOK, Ill. (STMW) -- One person suffered minor injuries when a car hit a wall and burst into flames, after colliding with a semi Monday morning on the Ronald Reagan Memorial Tollway.
The crash occurred at 5:02 a.m. on westbound I-88 near the York Toll Plaza, according to Illinois State Police.
The passenger car and semi collided, resulting in the car striking a wall and bursting into flames, state police said.
The driver of the passenger vehicle, a man in his 30s, was hospitalized with "minor injuries," according to state police. The man was able to get out of the car without suffering any burns.
Three lanes of westbound I-88 were closed while emergency crews worked to clear the accident, state police said. All lanes were re-opened as of 6 a.m.
No citations in connection with the crash had been issued Monday morning, state police said.
