3 Dead, 25 Wounded In City Weekend Violence

CHICAGO (CBS) - Gunfire over the weekend in Chicago left two men and a teenage boy dead, and another 25 people wounded.
The first fatal shooting happened early Saturday on the Near West Side, on the former grounds of the ABLA Homes public housing development.
Police first responded to the 1300 block of West Washburne Avenue at 12:29 a.m. Saturday after hearing shots fired in the area.
They found Jermaine Arnold, 26, of the 600 block of East 89th Street, on the street with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to Stroger Hospital of Cook County, where he was pronounced dead at 1:20 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
Police said they think the shooting may be gang-related.
The second fatal shooting took place Saturday in the 7300 block of South Coles Avenue in the South Shore neighborhood, where police found a teenage boy with a gunshot wound to the chest at about 3:47 p.m.
The boy, Jamal Lockett, 16, of the 7500 block of South Colfax Avenue, was pronounced dead at 4:22 p.m. at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, according to the Medical Examiner's office. He suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
The third fatal shooting happened about 10:25 p.m. in the 1100 block of North Keystone Avenue in the West Humboldt Park neighborhood, police said.
Andre Brown, 33 of the 900 block of North Keeler Avenue, was dead at the scene, according to the Medical Examiner's office.
Four other teenagers younger than 18 were among the 25 people wounded in shootings since Friday.
About 4:50 p.m. on Saturday, a 15-year-old girl was shot in the side in the 8700 block of South Saginaw Avenue, police said, adding that the girl was taken in serious condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.
At approximately 7:45 p.m., a 17-year-old boy was shot in the 6700 block of South Hermitage Avenue, police said. Paramedics took the boy in fair condition to Christ Medical center.
About 11:50 p.m., a 16-year-old boy was walking on the sidewalk when several suspects got out of a dark-colored vehicle and shot him in the abdomen in the 2800 block of East 89th Street, according to police News Affairs.
He went to Christ Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition early Sunday.
At 7:40 p.m. on Sunday, a 14-year-old boy suffered a gunshot wound to the left heel in the 9100 block of South Yates Boulevard, police said, adding that paramedics took the boy in good condition to Advocate Trinity Hospital.
